Introduction to the Vedas 

Gayathri Yagna is proud and humbled to have had an opportunity for young children to be introduced to the Vedas, by learning from Brahmasri Shri. Yagneshwara Dikshitar, who had over five decades of experience in performing and presiding over a variety of vedic and religious ceremonies in the USA, Canada, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Born in Kalady, the sacred birthplace of Shri Adi Sankaracharya, Shri. Dikshitar was a "Mudhradhikari" of Sringeri Sharada Peetham. At the time of conducting these Veda classes, Shri. Dikshitar was the Chief Priest of Gayathri Yagna, a not-for-profit organization, aiming to foster and spread awareness of the Supreme Mantra - the Gayathri Mantra.

Gayathri Yagna feels humbled and blessed to have been a part of Shri.Dikshitar Mama's spiritual journey. As part of Gayathri Yagna's attempt to engage young children to partake learning from Mama's erudition, we are sharing some Veda class recordings from Shri.Dikshitar's classes. Nothing would be more heartening to him than the recitation of the Vedas.
