Brahmashri Yagneshwara Dikshitar
We sincerely regret to announce the Shivalokaprapthi of Brahmashri Yagneshwara Dikshitar ~830 PM on 27 Dec 2017, in Dallas, following a cardiac arrest. Shri Dikshitar Mama, as he was affectionately known, was visiting his students in Dallas, breaking away from the cold weather at his hometown Chicago.
A Shraddanjali was held on 8 January 2018, at Panchavati, Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple, Aurora, IL, to commemorate his illustrious life of spiritual service across the USA and around the world. As the Aasthana Guru of Gayathri Yagna, Shri Dikshitar Mama was the guiding light for all the Homams and Yagnas conducted by us. His devotion and spiritual leadership will be missed not just by all of us at Gayathri Yagna, but also his countless shishyas all over the world. You can find pictures of his ubiquitous participation and spiritual leadership as part of many Yagnas, Homams and Bhajans here. It was indeed the privilege of Gayathri Yagna to have been led by such a wonderful Guru that we were fortunate to be associated with. His leadership, affable nature and his authoritative tone of Vedic chanting reverberate in our minds, ever to be cherished. His active and enthusiastic participation in our Yagnas and Sita Kalyana Utsavams will be remembered always. He was looking forward to retiring and now, he has attained the Divine Lotus Feet while teaching his Shishyas, his most favorite way of passing on his legacy. Born in Kalady in Kerala,India, Mama was an accomplished Vedic scholar par excellence. He will be deeply missed by the many Sanatana Dharma followers all over the world, including USA, New Delhi and Singapore, where he lived for many years and the numerous shishyas he has taught and groomed over the years. He was a central figure at many of the Yagams, Kumbhabhishekams and other spiritual functions around the country. A man of deep dignity and serenity, Mama's contributions to Sanatana Dharma, especially in the USA, and his unwavering commitment to the spread of the Vedic culture in this far-away land from home will remain irreplaceable. His unexpected demise is a big loss to our entire community. We sincerely pray for the departed soul. |
